This Procurement Sr. Specialist is responsible in procurement of goods and services including providing support to the business in maximize the value of the investment in a third party product or service and sustain such value with minimum risk to the organization as a whole.
Position Responsibilities:
Intake Review and Contract Creation
- Intake review and ensuring conformance to established policies
- Sourcing, evaluating bids/quotations and vendor selection ensuring conformance to established policies
- Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions of sale, warranties of goods and products with key suppliers and vendors
- Purchase Order / Contract processing/administration, including acquiring resources within budget
- Related follow-up / administration, ensuring timely deliveries
Strategic Project Management
- Perform data gathering, perform spend/business analysis and recommendation
- Collaborate with stakeholders/BU’s for the sourcing requirements and specification including seeking support from subject matter experts, i.e., VGM, VISM, Risk, L&C, etc
- Go to supply market and source for qualified vendors
- Perform RFx (RFI(Request for Information) , RFP(Request for Proposal), RFQ(Request for Quotation)
- Prepare and present result of RFP evaluation and supplier selection.
Cost Savings / Process Improvement
- Identification and implementation of cost-saving initiatives & process improvements
- Monitoring of progress and results of procurement initiatives/projects
- Develop project pipelines and work with BU to anticipate/forecast requirements of the company
Vendor Management
- Interview, identify and accredit potential new vendors to secure more cost effective sources of products and services
- Maintaining / updating vendor information
- Completion of Accreditation Requirements of suppliers
- Update Preferred Vendor Master List
- Payment terms improvement and establishing credit lines
- Continuously measure and manage supplier performance
- Validate vendor related incidents and collaborate the resolution with BU, vendor management supervisor and vendor.
Training and Communications
- Provide communications for all purchasing related policies and processes
- Provide update on daily work performance progress
- Assist in the roll out of procurement tools & best practices
- Assist in ensuring compliance with the Procurement Policy and other global / local procedures
- Provide support & manage requests regarding business issues or inquiries
- Participation in other purchasing initiatives/tasks that may be assigned
- Negotiate contracts with vendor
- Award contract to vendor.
- Coordinate with the contract owners the updating of the contracts.
Required Qualifications:
Min. 5 years of experience in Procurement (preferably in insurance, banking or similar industry)
Graduate of a 4-year Business Course or relevant course
Good working knowledge on products, principles of supply management and related Technology
Skills and competencies: analytical Ability, negotiation, interpersonal, customer focus, strong communication skills and ability to deal with and manage change
