Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

The Strategic Sourcing Team aims to enhance internal Travelers processes. As the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic sourcing, negotiation, program and category management, and spend and market analysis that span multiple categories and/or lines of business. A focus area for this role is global outsourcing of professional services for technology and business processing. The engagements support a variety of managed services, migrations, implementation services, and consulting. The ideal candidate will have a history of successful negotiations of services engagements at scale.
What Will You Do?
- Execute the full lifecycle of sourcing activities, including developing sourcing strategies, to negotiate optimal commercial terms with a focus on risk mitigation in adherence with corporate contracting standards while closely partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct complex, high visibility negotiations with strategic global suppliers, negotiate contract commercial terms, pricing, business requirements, and service level agreements to mitigate risks and secure favorable terms that provide optimal results and adherence to corporate contracting standards and policies.
- Lead sourcing events - develop RFP requirements, facilitate proposal review sessions with internal stakeholders and suppliers, evaluate & analyze supplier bids, identify cost-saving opportunities, and build supplier evaluation/selection criteria in collaboration with business stakeholders.
- Maintain awareness of changing market conditions, communicate analysis, insights, risks and other research and results to team and business partners to drive optimal outcomes.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, business owners, and corporate stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure alignment on key objectives which will contribute to the successful execution of sourcing strategies.
- Participate in team and division projects and operational initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience using Procurement, eSourcing, SAP Ariba, Microsoft Excel and Word applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence and present to varying levels of the organization.
- Experience negotiating contracts and analyzing commercial terms in the professional services category.
- Strong project planning, negotiating, organizing, documenting and problem-solving skills with outcome-oriented focus.
- Ability to take quick, decisive action in unique and complex situations to meet corporate business objectives and business requirements.
What is a Must Have?
- Four years of procurement, strategic sourcing, finance, supplier management, administrative or related experience.
