
Summary: The Business Development Representative II will focus on acquiring and expanding relationships with the largest and priority commercial customers. Solicits and processes commercial business loans. Services approved loans and monitors repayment activities. Develops and implements branch call program and recommends branch goals for the assigned region. This role requires strategic thinking, outstanding interpersonal skills, and deep expertise in business development. The ideal candidate will work closely with bank personnel to enhance overall sales effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Proactively call on high-value existing and prospective commercial customers following a structured business development call program.
- Build and maintain relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs), including attorneys, accountants, and other referral partners, to generate new business opportunities and expand the bank’s client base.
- Execute on calling activities structured to achieve the Bank’s and the Business Development Officer’s New Loan and Deposit goals.
- Establishes priorities, prepares itineraries, and meets with customers to discuss their needs, outline services and resolve issues.

Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with Bank personnel to ensure seamless communication and effective customer support.
- Discuss customer needs, problems, and complaints, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
- Coordinate meetings between customers/prospects and various Bank representatives.
Market Research and Product Development
- Compile and analyze customer data, statistics and information received from customers.
- Develop and submit ideas for new products or services to the Business Development Manager
Regulatory Compliance & Knowledge
- Maintain current knowledge of all State and Federal Regulations related to business development, marketing and commercial lending.
Lead Generation & Follow-Up
- Reviews files and records for business development leads.
- Follows through diligently with identified leads to maximize opportunities.

Job Requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience;
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in commercial banking or business development;
- Established network of business contacts with proven ability to generate high-value commercial relationships;
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills;
- Leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing less experienced team members;
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred
- History of community involvement through volunteerism and/or representation with charitable organizations.
- Relationships with local, regional and national non-profits highly preferred.
- Background in both retail and commercial banking environments.
