Raytheon has an opening for a Manager, Contracts supporting the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons Portfolio within Raytheon’s Advanced Technology Strategic Business Unit, which focuses on key pursuits as well as development efforts that serve as the growth engine and front end of the business, critical to the future growth of Raytheon. Raytheon is working on the forefront of technology, advancing industry knowledge and capabilities to meet and overcome the challenges of hypersonic flight, and accelerating development of hypersonic weapons using state-of-the art expertise and investment in new infrastructure, people, and technology. Fielding these weapons is vital to our national security.
Within the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons Portfolio, Air-Breathing Hypersonic Weapon development is a key focus for Raytheon and a national priority. The Contract Manager will support development programs such the Hypersonic Airbreathing Weapon Concept and Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile targeted for transition to production. This highly competitive total system development area requires quick turn proposal responses, robust Intellectual Property strategies, and novel contracting approaches. This position offers the candidate a broad opportunity to engage with program leadership and coordinate peers in service of several programs of strategic importance to Raytheon.
What You Will Do
- Work closely with the Portfolio Directors, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Business/Estimating, and Supply Chain to manage successful execution of contracts.
- Provide guidance to senior management regarding contractual and business issues, rights and obligations, and risk mitigation.
- Lead the analysis of RFPs, development of proposals, proposal reviews and coordination, negotiations, administration of contractual agreements, and execution and close out of contracts.
- Review and analyze Estimates at Completion (EAC) to ensure accuracy and reliability in project forecasting.
- Coordinate and manage customer responses to ensure timely and effective communication.
- Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions to ensure scope is confined.
- Support program management and execution reviews to monitor progress and performance.
- Develop strategies for Intellectual Property and investments to drive innovation and growth.
- Ensure that negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Travel Requirements are minimal

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
- Defense or closely related regulatory industry experience in organizations that bring technology products to market, manufacturing or similar
- Experience in management of complex contracts and/or subcontracts including proposal preparation and / or contract negotiation for development, production, and/or service contracts in a Contract Management, Finance Management, Program Management or Engineering capacity
Qualifications We Prefer
- Active in-scope Top Secret clearance
- Experience in management of complex contracts and/or subcontracts including proposal preparation and / or contract negotiation for development, production, and/or service contracts
- Ability to recognize business and contractual issues in program performance and help implement solutions; carry out tasks to completion while exercising good judgment with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of financial aspects of contracts, and other business arrangements
- Experience in Finance or similar Earned Value and Estimates-at-Complete
- Familiarity with Other Transaction Agreements (OTA), Intellectual Property (IP), license agreements, or teaming agreements

Location Info and/Links:
The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
