Public Relations Specialist to join our Development & Fundraising team in Everett. Responsibilities
As a Public Relations Specialist, you will be a key driver of our communication strategies, building awareness and public trust around mental health issues and Compass Health’s work across Northwest Washington.
Developing and implementing strategic public relations campaigns
Cultivating relationships with local and regional media, bloggers, and community stakeholders
Writing press releases, success stories, and promotional content that amplify our mission
Collaborating with the Marketing & Multimedia Manager to align messaging and visual content across platforms
Partnering with departments across the organization to support internal and external communication needs
Contributing to social media content planning and outreach
Supporting event promotion and public-facing campaigns
Monitoring media coverage, tracking public sentiment, and reporting on PR impact
Responding to community inquiries and assisting with reputation management
Analyzing metrics to assess and improve PR strategies
Who You’ll Be Working With
You’ll collaborate closely with our Marketing & Multimedia Manager and work cross-functionally with teams including People Support Services, Learning, Training & Development, and Compass Connectors to ensure consistent, mission-aligned messaging. Your work will help shape the public voice of Compass Health across traditional and digital platforms.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
At least 3 years of experience in PR, communications, or media relations (nonprofit preferred)
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Proven ability to engage media and community partners
Experience working with multimedia and social media teams
Familiarity with analytics and media monitoring tools
Knowledge of mental health or social issues is a plus
Strong project management skills and attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
